What is the best way to wash your hair?
We wash our hair often, but are we doing it right?
We wash our hair often, but are we doing it right?
The most common steps are: Apply shampoo, rinse, apply conditioner, rinse and finally finish with a jet of cold water to boost shine.
But we have some tips to make the process even better.
Wait, was that wrong? Of course not. But we have some tips to make the process even better.
- Before washing it, detangle your hair. This will help remove product debris and bacteria. In addition, it will help stimulate blood circulation which will facilitate the absorption of the shampoo and conditioner.
- Regulating water temperature is also important. Hot water opens the hair cuticle and facilitates removing oils and residues that can cause frizz. Cold water, on the other hand, hydrates the hair. Of course, we know that a shower with cold water is not an option, so we recommend to save it for the last rinse.
- Apply shampoo onto the root and massage gently with your fingertips for approximately 3 minutes. Let the lather drip from mid-lengths to ends and clean up that way. Young hair is closest to the scalp, so this area usually has a lot of oil.
- Conditioner should always be applied from mid-lengths to ends. Leave for 5 minutes and rinse well, this is very important. Optionally, if you have a comb at hand you can comb your hair before rinsing in order to prevent tangling.
